CASUAL PART-TIME MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST
FCHS Diagnostic Imaging
Position available immediately


Job Duties:
 
  • Available for all shifts including days and weekends, stat holidays and participation in the on-call rotation (Mandatory 30 min call back when on-call)
  • Available to cover on short notice as well as vacation and sick call coverage
  • Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Responsible for efficient and safe operation of x-ray, and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures
  • Perform all General Radiology, Portable exams, ECG’s and Holter monitors and some clerical duties
  • Exercising sound professional judgment, using best practice guidelines
  • Assesses the patient’s condition prior to, during and after examinations
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all, through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures
  • Address and resolve minor issues in a productive, respectful manner
  • Collaborate with Senior technologist to mentor new staff
  • Assist with day to day patient and staff scheduling changes as required


Job Qualifications:

 
  • Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
  • Proven excellence in attendance and punctuality
  • Current CMRITO (College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario) registration required
  • Proof of Professional liability insurance with either OAMRS/CAMRT
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred
  • Ability to independently assess concurrent demands, set priorities, organizes work and deliver excellent quality imaging in a busy environment\
  • Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment
 
  • Develop strong interdepartmental relationship to promote collaboration
  • Strong team player with the ability to perform duties independently and professionally
  • Demonstrated strong decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking skills in clinical settings

  • Understanding and demonstrated use of good body mechanics
