Security Services 

The Screening Guard is responsible for creating a safe and secure environment for all staff, patients and visitors through Victoria, University & Children's Hospital Emergency Departments. This is accomplished via customer service, screening individuals who present through the main entrances through the Weapons detection system.

Regular Part-Time, no guarantee of hours 

Rate of Pay: $27.54 per hour - $34.42 per hour 

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a high school diploma, or equivalent
• Licensed as a Security Guard in the Province of Ontario
• Recent security experience in a Hospital environment (preferred)
• Demonstrated effective communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to interact with others in a respectful manner
• Demonstrated high standards of ethical conduct, exhibiting honesty and integrity
• Ability to respond to situations with tact and diplomacy and remain calm in stressful situations 
• Ability to monitor traffic flow through entrances and exits
• Demonstrated ability to work independently 
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient family centred care
• Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
