The integrated vascular/cardiology unit within the Surgical Care Portfolio provides care for the vascular adult elective and emergency vascular patients in addition to 6 cardiology inpatient beds. This program is a vascular referral center for South Western Ontario.  Multidisciplinary primary nursing care is provided in a medium to high acuity environment. 

Regular Full Time

Rate of Pay:   $37.10 per hour - $37.77 per hour

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C)
• Minimum of one year recent surgical nursing experience
• Demonstrated excellent assessment and technical skills, and proven problem solving and decision making ability
• Demonstrate, adaptability, effective organizational skills and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to practice effectively independently and as an effective tem member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Demonstrated adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development
• Demonstrated computer proficiency with Automated Clinical Systems
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

• Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: 
• Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;  
• Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);  
• Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
