Salary Range: $38.80 - $39.19 /hour
An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Practical Nurse to provide services within the Colposcopy clinic at St. Joseph's Hospital as part of a collaborative interprofessional team.
This specialized area of ambulatory care provides evaluation and treatment services for women with abnormal pap smears. The RPN will support the physicians during colposcopy exams and provide best patient care before, during and after each procedure. The RPN responsibilities also include assisting with laboratory data entry and cytology/pathology specimen collection and labeling.
The Colposcopy clinic is a fast-paced environment that requires the RPN to prioritize tasks and patients appropriately, collaborate within an interprofessional team to achieve results and display effective communication with their colleagues.
Essential Qualifications
- Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Valid CPR certificate
- Successful completion of a nursing competency test
- Proficiency and experience in pharmacology and medication administration
- Demonstrate knowledge of conditions/pathology of Women's Health
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Demonstrate ability to work to full scope of practice
- Excellent decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Current experience (within last 2 years) in an Ambulatory clinic setting, preferably Women's Health
- Demonstrated ability to work within an interprofessional team setting

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza..
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing.
