Client Support, Information Technology Services
Client Support Specialists are responsible for troubleshooting first level requests/calls from hospital staff and physicians. Calls are taken either directly by telephone or re-directed through a queue for on-site support. They resolve basic technical questions and work on hardware/software/network problems related to individual computer access. Client Support Specialists may also be responsible for monitoring the hospital’s Data Centre operations, to ensure availability, performance, security and reliability – including operating procedures, system back ups/restores and system maintenance procedures.
Client Support Specialists must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a pleasant phone manner, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical Clients with varying levels of computer knowledge.
Regular Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $30.16 per hour - $37.72 per hour
Hour of work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications
- Successful completion of a minimum Two (2) year Community College diploma in Computer Systems/Networking or 2 years equivalent experience as acceptable by hospital
- A+ Hardware Certificate preferred
- Minimum (1) year recent, related experience in a high-volume Help Desk support environment
- Proficient knowledge of general hardware components, software applications, and networking tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of health care specific computer applications
- Demonstrated technical and analytical skills
- Demonstrated proficient problem resolution and troubleshooting skills and aptitude
- Excellent customer service and interaction skills
- Demonstrated strong organizational, record keeping, and time-management skills
- Demonstrated effective communication (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to take the initiative and be resourceful
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
