Employee Safety Initiatives

This role will facilitate required workplace violence training.  The training process includes: assessing training deliverables, defining learning objectives, supporting the implementation of training, delivering hands on physical training, and evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum.

As a part of our Occupational Health & Safety Team, you will work closely with colleagues and managers to determine requirements throughout the training process and will be committed to continuous learning and development.

What we offer:

Qualifications

 

  • Successful completion of a 2-year College Diploma or Degree in Adult Learning or related area 

  • Certified Training and Development Professional preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of recent related experience , healthcare background prefered

  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) 

  • Demonstrated sound judgement and decision-making skills

  • Experience delivering in-person and virtual instructor-led training in non-violent crisis intervention or workplace violence

  • Effective organizational skills involving time management, prioritization and the ability to problem solve while ensuring attention to details 

  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to work well and independently with minimum supervision in a team environment

  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel

  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care

  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSCs vision, purpose and values

  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
