This successful candidate will work under the direction of Drs. Christen Shoesmith, Michael Nicolle and Anita Florendo-Cumbermack in the role of Research Coordinator within the Neuromuscular group. Research Studies are predominately related to treatment of ALS, Myasthenia Gravis and Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP).
As a member of our growing clinical research program, the Research Coordinator (RC) will work with our full-time Research Coordinator assisting in conducting new and ongoing research studies within the Neuromuscular group, London Health Sciences Centre's Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences. The RC will be responsible for the conduct of study visits for ongoing studies, including investigational product (IP) preparation, patient preparation (IV insertion) and IV infusions; drawing of blood samples, processing and shipping; performing study assessments or completing patient questionnaires; extraction and entry of patient data, maintenance of complete and accurate subject data and regulatory documentation; identifying, reviewing and reporting participants complications, protocol deviations and other events in accordance with institutional guidelines; ensure the quality and overall integrity of the clinical study. The RC will report to the full-time Research Coordinator and the Principal Investigator (PI) of the research study.
Rate of Pay: $40.60 - $50.75 per hour
Hours of Work: Casual up to 22.5 hours per week
Duration: 12 months - contract may be renewable

Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) considered a strong asset
- Experience with phlebotomy, IV insertions and infusions
- Previous experience in clinical research is considered an asset.
- Ideal applicant will be reliable, organized, independent, capable of multi-tasking and able to collaborate and take responsibility in meeting deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) required with ability to effectively convey research information and provide authority where necessary
- Capacity and willingness to learn new research methods and work routines quickly with flexibility in adapting and responding to new research opportunities as they arise
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet competing deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member when liaising with all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of medical terminology, and knowledge of ALS, Myasthenia Gravis (MG) and CIDP is an asset (training will be provided)
- Certification in ICH-GCP, HCD5, and other Lawson Research modules is an asset
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Purpose, Vision and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
