Parkwood Institute Main - London, ON
Temporary Full Time
This is a temporary Full-Time expected to extend until August 30, 2024, subject to the availability of work.
Co-op student, Volunteer Services, reporting to the Coordinator of Volunteer Services, or designate, will be responsible for providing assistance and support in St. Joseph's stores, focusing on purchasing, unpacking and pricing new merchandise, sourcing and procuring new vendors, setting up window and store displays, surveying customers to ensure appropriate inventory is available, and assisting with implementation of a new POS/inventory management system for the stores.
The successful applicant will be responsible for creating and maintaining positive relationships with others, while working collaboratively with internal partners and colleagues to update and enhance the look of the stores.
The successful applicant will be required to have the ability to get to all St. Joseph's sites within the City of London. All locations are located on a bus route.
Essential Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in the Fashion Marketing and Management program, School of Design at Fanshawe College (year 1 or 2)
- Knowledgeable about merchandising, vendor procurement, and retail store displays
- Knowledgeable about consumer issues and trends and can provide suggestions on how to effectively respond
- Able to conduct consumer research across a variety of platforms, i.e. in person and surveys
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task with a high degree of accuracy, prioritize tasks and utilize time efficiently to meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to work effectively independently and within a team setting
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. As an employee of St. Joseph's, you will be expected to engage in role related teaching and research activities in addition to any of your clinical duties.
- Provide documentation you have received three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine (primary series, boosters and/or XBB) OR one dose of XBB vaccine at least 14 days prior to the start date.
- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
