Reporting to the Manager, General Radiology, the Medical Radiation Technologist - Radiography is responsible for performing radiological procedures including, under the supervision of the Coordinator and/or duty Radiologist, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for the diagnosis of disease as requested by clinical consultants.  The successful candidate will ensure that patient care and comfort are maintained at all times and that protection measures are appropriately utilized in order to minimize hazards due to radiation. Successful applicants will be cross-trained in Computed Tomography and shifts will be allocated in both modalities.

Rate of Pay:            $36.84 per hour - $50.24 per hour

Qualifications

• Currently registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
• Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists preferred
• Minimum of six (6) months recent work experience in general radiography
• Portables and operating room experience preferred
• Cerner, AGFA PACS experience preferred
• Demonstrated skills and knowledge in radiology procedures
• Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
• Demonstrated ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development and self-directed learning
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
