Department Description

 

Echo Lab UH

Reporting to the Coordinator, Non-Invasive Diagnostic Cardiology (NIDC) Department, the individual is required to perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms and assist Cardiologists in performing semi-invasive diagnostic procedures including Transesophageal Echo, Stress Echo, Contrast Echo and Pericardiocentesis using the digital echocardiography system. The NIDC department offers a wide range of diagnostic Cardiology procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Temporary Full-Time 

Rate of Pay:        $36.84  per hour - $50.24 per hour

Hours of Work:    37.5 hours per week

Duration of temporary assignment:  Until  January 31, 2025

Qualifications

 
  • Currently registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario
  • Minimum one year recent related work experience with Adult Echo
  • Experience in all aspects of adult echocardiography
  • Experience in scanning patients with complex congenital heart disease (CHD)
  • Knowledge of complex cardiac pathology
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet Explorer, Outlook and Cardiac Information Databases
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills involving time management and prioritization
  • Ability to function independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
  • Ability to establish relationships with patients, families and members of the healthcare team
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
  • Physically fit and able to perform the duties of the position
  • Knowledge of patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
