Clinical Informatics - OneChart
Reporting to the Manager, Health Informatics, the Clinical Informatics Specialist is the liaison between healthcare providers and the technology that enables them to deliver high-quality patient care. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for the assessment, design, testing, education, implementation, evaluation and ongoing support of clinical information systems and supporting technology. The Clinical Informatics Specialist role is consultative and collaborative, working closely with both clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to analyze complex clinical challenges, perform comprehensive workflow assessments, requirements gathering and provide recommendations for resolution.
This role will focus on collaboration with clinical informatics and project management professionals from across LHSC and our regional partner hospitals to support region-wide clinical transformation and change management. By leveraging their knowledge of health informatics and clinical expertise, these professionals play a pivotal role in aligning clinical information systems and supporting technologies with professional practice standards and best practices. Some travel may be required between London & regional sites.
Rate of Pay: $46.79 per hour - $58.48 per hour
Status: Regular full-time
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week
Qualifications
- Successful Completion of an Undergraduate Degree in a regulated health field or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
- Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of recent related experience and/or two (2) years in clinical informatics
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information & Management Systems - Canada (CPHIMS-CA) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and participate in the redesign of complex clinical process
- Demonstrated ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans
- Demonstrated understanding of data interrelationships
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and model positive change
- Detailed understanding and working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (experience with Cerner system preferred)
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
