The Medical Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily organization of the clinic/office and providing administrative support to practitioners in their clinical practice which may include academic and research responsibilities, financial responsibilities, as well as supporting the organization of departmental activities.

Temporary Full-Time

Hours of Work:   37.50 hours per week

Rate of Pay : $28.37 per hour - $35.45 per hour 

Duration: up to September 2026 

Qualifications

 
  • Successful completion of a two (2) year diploma in Medical Office administration
  • Minimum one year recent, related experience 
  • Computer software skills such as Computer software skills such as Microsoft Suite, patient registration, scheduling programs, and Cerner
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology 
  • Knowledge of OHIP billing procedures
  • General bookkeeping skills
  • Time Management and organization skills
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and be empathetic and sensitive to patient needs, as per hospital policies
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Mission, Vision and Values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
