The Regional Paediatric Education Consultant is accountable for developing, facilitating, implementing, and evaluating professional educational opportunities for regional partner hospitals, public health and community nursing staff (e.g. training in new technology, medications, and procedures for a broad range of practice competencies and medical directives based on patient population). The Regional Paediatric Education Consultant is a professional role model and resource person for nursing staff and other members of the health care team in supporting the development of policies and procedures that promote evidence-based practice. Develops, supports, implements and evaluates quality improvement initiatives based on both regional and provincial direction/requests.
Regular Full-time
Rate of Pay: $54.93 per hour - $68.67 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a College Diploma in a Regulated Health Profession
- Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a Health-Related Discipline, Adult Education, or as acceptable by the Hospital, preferred
- Current Certificate of Registration from with applicable professional college recognized under the Regulated Health Professionals Act
- Minimum five (5) years recent experience in a busy health care setting
- Valid Driver's License (G Class), own reliable vehicle, and current insurance coverage
- Current CNA certification preferred
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course: BLS-HCP(C) for which you can provide proof upon request
- Successful completion of PALS and NRP certifications
- PALS, ENPC Instructor preferred
- Current ACORN and ENPC preferred
- Current membership in a professional nursing specialty organization
- Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical teaching
- Previous experience in clinical teaching
- Ability to portray a professional image and excellent role model
- Strong analytical skills
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with professional practice and program development tools
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, teambuilding and conflict management skills
- Effective coaching skills/critiques development of staff and ability to provide appropriate feedback
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated proficient facilitation and presentation skills
- Proficiency with project management
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize fluctuating workload demands
