CASUAL PART TIME DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING CLERK
SMGH Diagnostic Imaging
Position available immediately
Must have availability for vacation relief and short notice /sick calls
Job Duties:
Scheduled to work M-F, 7.5 or 4 hour shifts
Potential to rotate through CT/ DI /MRI Bookings, DI Reception or OBSP/BAP
Managing a workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
Facilitate the triaging of DI requisitions, liaise with referring services to gather additional or missing clinical information, verify patient information to ensure accuracy
Perform a variety of complex bookings, clerical and receptionist duties, such as receiving and processing outpatient requisitions for procedures from physicians’ offices, entering patient information into the Radiology Information System, (RIS), checking in patients for scheduled appointments
Greet and coordinate the daily flow of patients including IP/OP/ED and AMB care
Book follow-up appointments accurately and professionally in all modalities
Exercising sound professional judgment, using best practice guidelines
Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures
Address and resolve minor issues in a productive, respectful manner
Collaborate with Senior technologists to mentor new staff
Job Qualifications:
Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
and proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
Medical Office Assistant Diploma from a recognized college (relevant experience may be considered)
Relevant booking experience in Diagnostic Imaging /CT preferred
Demonstrates exemplary organizational skills with the ability to recognize the importance of accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency
Ability to independently assess concurrent demands, set priorities, organizes work and deliver accurate in a busy environment
Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment
Demonstrated computer skills in Cerner Radnet, AGFA PACS and Microsoft Office
Develop strong interdepartmental relationship to promote collaboration
Strong team player with the ability to perform duties independently and professionally
Demonstrated strong decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking
Demonstrated excellence in customer service
Evidence of ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
Proven excellence in attendance and punctuality
Understanding and demonstrated use of good body mechanics
