CASUAL PART TIME SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Speech Language Pathology
Rate of Pay: $46.008 - $59.639
Reason for Posting: New Position
The Middlesex Hospital Alliance is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate
Speech-Language Pathologist
to join our Allied Health team. This role provides both inpatient and outpatient services and offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.

Job Qualifications
Must provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella and varicella (chicken pox) and proof of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
Must provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing within the previous 12 months
Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA)
Demonstrate strong knowledge of medical conditions and impact on communication and swallowing
Minimum one (1) year recent experience in a hospital setting (acute care preferred)
Experience completing Modified Barium Swallow studies preferred
MBSImP Certification considered an asset
Assess and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify treatment plans in collaboration with clients and caregivers
Support discharge planning and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
Assist clients in obtaining communication or swallowing equipment as needed
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care
Participate in quality assurance initiatives (e.g., chart audits, progress evaluations)
Supervise and mentor students and support staff
Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare colleagues
Complete accurate and timely documentation
Communicate effectively with physicians and allied health professionals
Consult with external facilities and agencies as required
Adhere to all applicable legislation, including the Regulated Health Professionals Act, PHIPA, and the Public Hospitals Act
Promote the profession of Speech-Language Pathology within the hospital and community
Participate in hospital-wide committees
Monitor and order departmental supplies within budget
Maintain required statistical reporting
Ensure a safe clinical environment and report hazards
Demonstrate knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and strategic goals
Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development, evidence-based practice and self-directed learning
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and leadership skill
Demonstrate ability to both lead and collaborate as a team member in a patient family and centered care setting
Proficient computer skills in a Windows and Cerner based environment
Commitment to continuous improvement and ability to foster change
Demonstrate excellence in attendance
Demonstrate excellence in customer service
Understanding and demonstrate use of good body mechanics
