Information Technology Services (ITS) is a department within LHSC providing services in the areas of Network and Telecommunications, Helpdesk, Cyber Security, Clinical and Corporate Applications Support, Clinical Informatics, Interface Creation and Support, Device Deployment, and IT Project Management. ITS delivers services to LHSC along with many regional hospital partners and supports more than 20,000 users of computer systems and devices. Our goal is to support and advance clinical care and quality through the deployment and support of innovative technologies.

Job Summary

 

What the Role is

Reporting to the Director, IT Business Operations, the Manager, ITS Regional Relationships & Business Operations provides leadership and support to serving customers of ITS Services in totality. There are currently 11 customer hospitals across two governance models, this is expected to expand to LHSC's Local Delivery Group (LDG) catchment (32 Hospitals).

The governance models for this agreement requires London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) to ensure there is a balance between operational day-to-day system/end user support and effective planning for future system advances. The overall services delivery requires proactive communication and anticipation of customer needs. The governance models outline the collaboration required to plan for future system advances. The Manager is accountable to support all aspects of the governance agreements with a focus on customer relationship management. The Manager either leads or supports all committees and teams related to the governance model, including ensuring the operating and strategic planning functions are effective and timely. The Manager is responsible for building relationships within the group of hospitals. This role will continue building internal business operations resources and processes creating a clear and transparent path to navigating ITS and reporting for all service level objects and metrics. The refinement of the business operations work is expected to continuously improve them over time.

The Manager, ITS Regional Relationships and Business Operations directs, controls and evaluates the delivery of department services. They are responsible for translating decisions of the program leadership into execution, by utilizing relationship management and working with internal and external partners to achieve the necessary outcomes. The Manager ensures their team and department operations are aligned with our mission, vision and values, while working together to successfully achieve our strategic objectives.

This role is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including the management of human and material resources, day-to-day staffing and scheduling, development and support of a healthy workplace, risk and utilization measurements, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management, while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team/unit and with other teams across the organization.

Confirmation of hybrid work options available to you will be clarified upon hire and may be subject to change based on the duties required of your position. Successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on location, as required.

NOTE: This role is required to be on-call, evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.

What You Will Bring with You

  • Successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred*

  • Related post-graduate education preferred

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an acute care academic teaching hospital

  • Previous management experience preferred 
  • Preference and consideration will be given to active members of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) who have, or are in process of attaining the Canadian Health Executive (CHE) Select certification program 
  • Previous experience in negotiations with internal and external customers required
  • Demonstrated experience supporting high quality and safe patient care and exceptional patient/family experiences

  • Ability to effectively work with diversity, appreciating that different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics can bring richness to the challenge at hand
  • Fluent and computer literate with computer systems such as email and Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
