The Regional Mental Health Care Program is a core service at St. Joseph's and is delivered in partnership with the Lawson Research Institute, Western University & Fanshawe College.

Located at the Finch Family Mental Health Care Building (Parkwood Institute), the program supports individuals with specialized mental health needs across the continuum of care. Grounded in the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery, care is delivered through an interdisciplinary team approach, in collaboration with patients, families, and community partners. Services span inpatient, ambulatory, and outreach programs.

Position: Clinical Director, Inpatient Mental Health
This leadership role is responsible for the strategic oversight and continued development of a 156-bed inpatient adult mental health portfolio, which includes:
-4 Treatment & Rehabilitation Units
-2 Geriatric Psychiatry Units
-1 Dual Diagnosis Unit
-1 Short-Stay Stabilization Unit

The role also provides leadership for After-Hours Leaders/Officer in Charge and Health Services. Working in close partnership with the Medical Director, Inpatient Services and the Clinical & Medical Directors, Ambulatory and Outreach Services, the Clinical Director will drive strategic direction and operational excellence across the inpatient mental health system.

Key Responsibilities
-Lead strategic change and program development within inpatient mental health services
-Foster strong internal and external partnerships, including with regional hospitals and community agencies
-Promote service excellence, innovation, and system-wide capacity building
-Support integration across sectors and funding models
-Advance education and research initiatives in collaboration with academic partners
-Champion quality, safety, and patient-centered care
-Provide leadership in human and financial resource planning
-Coach and develop high-performing teams using evidence-based decision-making

Ideal Candidate Profile
-Minimum Master's degree in a health-related field is required
-At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, preferably in hospital and/or community mental health settings
-Regulated health care professional in good standing is preferred
-Proven success in transformational leadership, program planning, and strategic development
-Deep understanding of Ontario's mental health system, including the priorities of the Mental Health & Addictions Centre of Excellence and Ontario Health, developmental services, and seniors care
-Strong knowledge of quality-based procedures, clinical standards, and emerging best practices
-Demonstrated skills in communication, stakeholder engagement, and system-level collaboration

Assets:
-Certified Health Executive (CHE) designation from the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL)
-Active university appointment
