The Quality, Risk & Accreditation Consultant functions in a lead role providing expertise to LHSC in supporting Accreditation, Enterprise Risk Management and quality improvement. They will achieve these accountabilities through consultation, collaboration, partnerships, role modeling, mentoring and influencing change.
The Quality, Risk & Accreditation Consultant is responsible for overseeing the effective rollout and implementation of Continuous Improvement of Care, Enterprise Risk identification and monitoring of risks, Corporate Initiatives, Accreditation Oversight, and development and monitoring of the Quality Improvement Plan.
Temporary Full Time
Rate of Pay: $53.72 per hour - $67.16 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: up to October 2026
Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree; Master's Degree preferred
- Registered Health Professional and LEAN/Six Sigma green belt/black belt preferred
- Canadian Patient Safety Officer Course or Enterprise Risk Management Certification required
- Minimum five (5) years recent, related job experience
- Knowledge of governmental and other regulatory standards, requirements, guidelines, and industry best practices related to; Risk Management, Quality Improvement and Accreditation
- Exemplary communication skills (verbal and written) in dealing with a variety of internal and external hospital issues
- Applies effective problem-solving skills and critical thinking to both simple and complex situations
- Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple and changing demands
- Demonstrated skills in facilitation, coaching and conflict resolution
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Ability to work effectively with a team or independently using an above average level of initiative
- Experience in leading medium-to-large sized improvement projects
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of Just Culture preferred
- Experience working with all levels of leadership to support consultants and negotiate outcomes preferred
- Familiarity with completing A3s, process maps, Value Stream Mapping and affinity diagrams preferred
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
